Vocal sensation Calabria Foti and trombone virtuoso Bob McChesney brought their show to Festival of Arts for the first time this summer, performing music from Be-bop to Broadway!
Calabria Foti is a beautifully gifted artist who loves interpreting songs from the Great American Songbook and the Golden Age of Hollywood. Her highly acclaimed CDs can be heard on jazz and adult radio throughout the world. Her 2014 duet with Seth McFarlane, “Let’s Fall In Love”, received a GRAMMY award nomination. Also an accomplished violinist, Calabria created the jazz violin sound of Lisa Simpson on The Simpsons television show, performed the solo violin on PBS Great Performances, and for films Muppets Most Wanted, Sherlock Holmes, and others.
World-renowned trombonist Bob McChesney is a longtime mainstay in the music recording industry, having scored hundreds of films and television shows. A celebrated educator and clinician, he has spoken and performed at numerous Trombone and Jazz Education Conventions. One of Bob’s career highlights was co-producing with legendary entertainer Steve Allen what would be Allen’s last recording, entitled No Laughing Matter – The Bob McChesney Quartet plays the Music of Steve Allen. His more recent release “Chez Sez” can be heard on jazz stations around the globe.
The two artists, a husband and wife dynamic duo, share their love for the popular song and each other in a delightful evening of entertainment!
