Biography
Will Van Dyke is a Grammy-nominated music producer, songwriter, music supervisor, orchestrator, and arranger working in theater, television, and film. His musical Writing Kevin Taylor (written with Josh Halloway) has played at Village Theatre in Seattle, WA, and Meadow Brook Theatre in Rochester, MI. Currently in development: Magnificent Climb (with Rick Elice), Ten Brave Seconds (commercially optioned by Avalon Road Productions), fuzzy (2024 NAMT Finalist), Imagine Harry (NAMT 2015, 2017 O’Neill Finalist), Wintersong (2016 Goodspeed Johnny Mercer Colony, 2017 NAMT Finalist), The Circle and the Wheel (commissioned by Grove Entertainment and Barbara Whitman Productions) and Seven Broken Hearts (2017 Rhinebeck Writers Retreat) (all with Jeff Talbott), as well as a theatrical adaptation of his album Chasing the Day. Will has also penned the scores to The Lehman Trilogy, The Messenger, Ass and I at Pioneer Theater Company. Other composition credits include: The 64 Keys (Cleveland Playhouse), The Gravedigger’s Lullaby (off-Broadway), Straight (off-Broadway), The Lion King Experience titles (Disney), among others. Will was the Executive Music Producer for the film Theater Camp. He currently serves as the Music Director of Swept Away on Broadway for which he won a Helen Hayes Award for his work. Will also serves as Music Supervisor, Orchestrator, and Arranger for the hit revival of Little Shop of Horrors for which he also received a Grammy nomination for producing the Cast Recording. Additionally, Will was the Orchestrator and Arranger and continues to Supervise the musical adaptation of Pretty Woman worldwide. Other credits: The Heart of Rock and Roll, Fly, Kinky Boots, Rent, The Addams Family, Grease, and Wicked. Will was a finalist for the 2019 Fred Ebb Award and the 2021 Kleban Award. Will is a founding partner in Joy Machine Records. He has a band and has recorded numerous albums.
