Victor Barranco is an active freelancer and soloist in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. After finishing his master’s degree at the University of North Texas, he toured with the national Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof, starring Chaim Topol and Harvey Fierstein. He has performed and recorded with artists such as Chaka Khan, David Foster, Jewel, Gladys Knight, Al Jarraeu, Baby Face, Stevie Nicks, Melissa Manchester, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, The Spoon, Johnny Mathis, Dianne Reeves, George Duke, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Wayne Newton, Martha Reeves, Savion Glover, Raheem DeVaughn, Chrisette Michele, Les McCann, James Ingram, Myron Butler and Levi, Kirk Franklin, and many more.
Victor frequently travels as a guest performer and adjudicator at jazz festivals, conventions, and universities across the country, including the University of North Texas, Texas Christian University, University of Texas-Arlington, University of Alaska-Fairbanks, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and Slippery Rock University.
He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2005 and a Master of Music degree from the University of North Texas in 2008. His teachers include Jim Bicigo, Tom Ashworth, John Tranter, Tony Baker, Vern Kagarice, Jan Kagarice, and Steve Wiest.
