Takana Miyamoto

Takana Miyamoto's Biography

Takana Miyamoto found success at an early age when she began playing the piano in Japan. Miyamoto came to the United States to the Berklee College of Music to continue her musical studies in Film Scoring and Jazz Composition. She mixes various cultures and sounds into her music mainly from her Japanese heritage, but also Indian percussion instruments.



Miyamoto found success in New York as a pianist, arranger and musical director. She was accepted as a permanent U.S. resident based on her musical talent, and the International Jazz Society honored her talent as a pianist when they named her 2001’s “Rising Star.”
