Steve Carr is a well-known freelance studio musician from Los Angeles, California. His work on saxophones, flutes, clarinets, and synthesizers has enhanced the music of numerous movies and television shows such as The Poseidon Adventure, Star Trek: Voyager, The Scorpion King, Money Talks, F/X2, American Dreams, Matlock, and Dallas, to name a few.
His jazz groups perform regularly at many Los Angeles venues. He has performed with many well-known jazz stars including Buddy Collette, Benny Carter, David Benoit, Dizzy Gillespie, and Phil Woods.
He is the co-owner of SR Technologies, a company that manufactures high end saxophone mouthpieces, many of which, he designed.
Steve has a master's degree in music composition and theory from the University of California at Riverside. He also studied composition with Roy Harris while pursuing a doctorate at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has composed the scores for several “B” pictures and ghosted as composer and orchestrator on many well-known films.
