Sherwood "Bud" Berthold has been the Principal Timpanist of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and Mississippi Opera Orchestra since the early 1980s. He also has worked extensively as an extra percussionist and timpanist in orchestras throughout the South, including the Alabama Symphony Orchestra in Birmingham, AL. King, Denise LaSalle, Deana Martin, Percy Sledge, Ray Stevens, Greg "Fingers" Taylor, Dionne Warwick and many more.
