Rob Frear is Professor of Music at California State University, Long Beach and a founding member of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. He has performed as principal trumpet with almost all of the orchestras, ballets and opera companies in Southern California over the course of his career.
As former Solo Trumpet of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra with Zubin Mehta, Frear has received critical acclaim throughout five continents. He has been praised as "a trumpeter of unparalleled stamina" (The Herald, Glasgow), and it was stated that "the principal trumpet player delivered his notes with Jedi-like laser focus" (Saskatoon StarPhoenix). Frear has performed on the soundtracks of many motion pictures and television shows since 1991.
