Paul Stephens's Biography

Paul Stephens’ full-time professional music performance career began in 1988. Since then, Paul has performed as the Lead/1st trumpet player with The U.S. Air Force Bands, The U.S. Army’s Jazz Ambassadors, Maynard Ferguson, Nicholas Payton, The San Antonio Symphony, The Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, and many other notable artists. His lead and solo trumpet playing can be heard on 100’s of recordings as well as radio, television shows, jingles, and motion picture soundtracks.

Paul taught as a music consultant for the Edgewood Independent School District in San Antonio, TX. He was the applied Jazz/Lead Trumpet Instructor at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. He was also the Trumpet Professor for Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Many of Paul’s students have gone on to have successful professional music careers themselves. Paul has given numerous lectures, clinics, and masterclasses around the world. He has also performed as a special guest soloist with numerous universities, colleges, high schools, and professional bands throughout the USA and abroad.

Paul currently resides in his home state of Oklahoma with his wife, Allana.
