Ory Shihor is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning pianist and renowned pedagogue. He is the co-founder of the Ory Shihor Institute which provides piano performance training and exams for students of all levels, teacher training and certification, and a pre-college program for advanced young pianists with a focus on college audition preparation.
His students have garnered impressive credentials as winners of top prizes in prestigious international competitions such as the Naumburg and Hilton Head and are regularly accepted to top conservatories such as Curtis and Juilliard, among others.
Mr. Shihor was the winner of the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, the Gina Bachauer Juilliard Prize, first prize winner of the Washington International Piano Competition and prize winner at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition.
He has performed at prestigious venues and festivals around the world, including The Kennedy Center, Ravinia Festival in Chicago, The Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, 92nd Street "Y" in New York, and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, among many others.
Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, he came to the United States at age 15 to study at the Curtis Institute of Music and later graduated from the Juilliard School.
Ory Shihor is a Bösendorfer and Yamaha artist.
