Yamaha String Artist Nina DiGregorio is a classically trained violinist, bass player, writer/arranger, and vocalist, but is most well-known for being an innovative performer on the electric rock violin, as well as a music business mogul and entrepreneur. She has performed as a soloist and string arranger with some of the biggest names in the business. She arranged and performed strings with The Killers for President Obama and was featured on a recent album. She can also be seen featured on the Beyonce I am...Yours live performance DVD and both David Foster and Friends DVDs, which include Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Boz Scaggs, Peter Cetera, and Charice.
Other television credits include performances with Andrea Bocelli for the DVD Amore Under the Desert Sky, Michel Legrand and Friends, the Latin Grammys with Shakira, the Billboard Music Awards, a Richard Marx DirecTV special, Muhammad Ali’s 70th Birthday Celebration where she performed with Stevie Wonder, John Legend, and others, and on America’s Got Talent Season 1 with Bella Electric Strings (then Bella Rumore), of which she is creator/producer.
Nina was also the solo violinist in Toni Braxton's band during her Las Vegas residency. Other performance credits include Deep Purple, Cheap Trick, Wayne Newton, Johnny Mathis, Smokey Robinson, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Donna Summer, Mary J Blige, Regis Philbin, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Cee-lo Green, and more.
As a writer/arranger, her work has been heard in shows such as Toni Braxton’s "Revealed", Beyonce's "I Am....Yours", The Fab: Beatle's Tribute Band, The Las Vegas Tenors, The Killers, The Yellow Brick Road Symphonic Rock Show, in her own productions Femmes of Rock and Bella Electric Strings, as well as on many studio recordings.
Nina's corporate entertainment production Bella Electric Strings performs for more than 200 events per year throughout the world. On top of opening for Michael McDonald and Charlie Daniels, Bella Strings performed as the featured string quartet with Richard Marx in multiple Las Vegas shows. Richard also hired twenty Bella girls to be featured performing with himself, Kenny Loggins, and Eric Benet for a DirecTV special that aired over the summer of 2016. Bella Strings has also had the privilege of being affiliated with the prestigious "Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp," performing alongside such artists as Kip Winger and Todd Rundgren at the facility. The group keeps a busy corporate schedule.
Nina is also well known throughout the music community as a successful entrepreneur. Bella Strings has become not merely a band, but a household brand in the world of strings. What began with a single electric string quartet has now grown into teams of over 30 string performers on the roster throughout the U.S..
Nina created/produced a rock production show called "Femmes of Rock," in which she stars, featuring 4 electric strings/vocalists, a 3- piece backing band, and multimedia video experience performing unique twists on classic rock music which has sold out theaters nationwide. The group has opened for Cheap Trick, Bad Company, Ted Nugent, and Kansas, and were invited to share the stage with Cheap Trick after their performance.
During the pandemic, when touring was no longer possible for "Femmes of Rock", Nina began posting videos of herself on social media covering famous guitar solos on her electric violin. She has amassed multiple millions of views over TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube platforms since then, becoming a viral internet sensation. Her videos have received praise from various A-listers, including many of the original classic rock artists.
Nina holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the State University of New York at Buffalo, as well as a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. She also holds a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She was a recent recipient of the coveted Distinguished Alumni award from the University at Buffalo; one of the youngest to receive the award.
