NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 11, 2011) GRAMMY Award winning singer/songwriter and Yamaha artist Sarah McLachlan has made a significant impact on music education for inner city children in Vancouver, and recently she teamed with Yamaha Entertainment Group to make an even bigger impression. YEG donated a Yamaha C3 grand piano to the Sarah McLachlan School of Music, making the piano a viable and accessible tool for those who otherwise might not have access to it.
"Thanks for the continued support from Chris Gero and all the folks at the Yamaha Entertainment Group," says Sarah McLachlan. "Their support of the School of Music has truly made a difference in helping students explore their creative potential."
Part of the Sarah McLachlan Foundation, the Sarah McLachlan School of Music is a permanent school that offers free music education to vulnerable youth in Vancouver's inner city. Sarah's vision for the school is to inspire both new and existing students to explore their creative potential.
"What Sarah has created with the School of Music is truly inspiring, so it was our pleasure to provide a Yamaha grand piano for the youth," comments Chris Gero, VP and Founder of Yamaha Entertainment Group. "Sarah is a dear friend and we will always do what we can to support our artists and music education."
