Hollywood, Calif. (March 6, 2009) — Legendary Nashville session drummer, acclaimed producer and Yamaha artist
Eddie Bayers has been nominated for Top Percussionist/Drummer of the Year for the 44
th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
Bayers, named one of the "Top Ten Greatest Session Drummers of All Time" by
Drum! Magazine, has recorded on hundreds of gold and platinum selling albums. His credits include Vince Gill, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Steve Winwood, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Trisha Yearwood, Sting, Peter Frampton and more.
"Being recognized by your peers is one of the most gratifying feelings a musician can have," says Bayers. "The ACMs are one of the most respected award shows in country music and I'm honored to be included with the other immense talents in this group of nominees."
Bayers, who plays a Yamaha PHX drum set in textured black sunburst, most recently worked on projects with Reba McEntire, Clay Walker and John Anderson, as well as a new duet between Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. He is also currently co-producing a various artists album with the legendary Funk Brothers of Motown. The album features Nashville artists Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks, Delbert McClinton and more.

This year's star-studded event will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.
