NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 3, 2007) Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs, Inc. is proud to announce the addition of two-time Grammy Award winner Rebecca Lynn Howard to its artist roster. Howard, a crossover country-pop singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist, has been gearing up for the release of a new compilation album called Songs 4 Worship for Time Life, which features her single "God is in the House." The album was released Oct. 2.
"Rebecca exemplifies the type of artist we like to support," comments Chris Gero, Vice President, Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs, Inc. "She's shown a sense of dedication to the creation of music, both through songwriting and producing her own albums, and she continues to grow as an artist. We're proud to have her on our roster."
Howard has composed songs for stars including Patty Loveless, Reba McEntire, Lila McCann and John Michael Montgomery, and her angelic voice has graced the work of artists such as Vince Gill and Dolly Parton. Her big break came when she recorded "Softly and Tenderly" for the soundtrack of the 1997 Robert Duvall movie, The Apostle, for which she won her first Grammy. In 2002, she scored a hit as both a songwriter and an artist with the song "Forgive" off her debut album.
In 2001 Howard and Jim Brickman recorded a number 1 single "Simple Things." Howard earned her second Grammy in 2004 for "If I Could Only Win Your Love," a duet with Ronnie Dunn featured on the Grammy-winning album, Livin', Lovin' Losin' Songs of the Louvin Brothers. She also picked up the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) award for her work on this album.
Rebecca has spent the last couple years honing in on her songwriting craft as a staff writer for Murrah Music in Nashville.
