Nashville, Tenn. (Aug 14, 2007) Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs, Inc. is proud to announce
A Fine Frenzy has joined its artist roster. A Fine Frenzy is the stage name for Alison Sudol, a striking 22-year-old red head whose delicate, piano-based songs and ethereal lyrics have been compiled onto a debut album that is already climbing the charts.
One Cell in the Sea, released July 17 by Virgin Records, is No. 1 on
Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart. Alison plays a Yamaha CP33 or Yamaha acoustic piano.
"Alison is a talented, budding artist, and we are happy to support her at the start of what will prove to be a very long and exciting career in the music industry," comments Chris Gero, Vice President, YCAA, Inc.
Riding a wave of early publicity due to the esteemed VH1 classification as a "You Oughta Know Artist," not to mention airtime in TV shows such as
Gilmore Girls,
House and
One Tree Hill, A Fine Frenzy's star was rising even before the release of her debut album.
Born in Seattle to dramatic-arts teacher parents, Alison moved to Los Angeles at age five. She developed a strong love for the fantastic literary worlds of CS Lewis, EB White, Lewis Carroll and Charles Dickens, while becoming a passionate author in her own right. She also taught herself to play piano and immersed herself in music of all kinds, including classical, Motown, swing, global British bands and Icelandic music. Inspired, Alison combined her literary knowledge with her musical prowess, and the ethereal, melodic sounds of
A Fine Frenzy were born.
A Fine Frenzy is currently touring with Sean Lennon and Rufus Wainwright. She is also part of the VH1 "You Oughta Know" tour with
Brandi Carlile. The complete tour schedule can be found at
