NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 2, 2006) Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs announced today it has signed music industry veteran
John Hiatt. The singer/songwriter's Yamaha gear of choice is the
Motif ES8 music production synthesizer workstation.
"We are extremely pleased that John has chosen to play Yamaha products. He is such a well-respected singer/songwriter who has been in the music business for years, and he's an excellent addition to our ever-growing
artist roster," comments Chris Gero, corporate director, Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs.
Hiatt's latest CD,
Master of Disaster, is in stores now. For this recording Hiatt journeyed to Memphis, Tenn. to join forces with the venerable producer Jim Dickinson and his sons Cody and Luther, who comprise two thirds of the radical roots-blues/rockers the North Mississippi All Stars. Hiatt is currently on tour in North America with dates announced through spring 2007.
Many artists have recognized Hiatt's keen wit and narrative flair in his songwriting. His tunes have been covered by stars such as Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Rodney Crowell, Willie Nelson, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, Flaco Jimenez, and Ry Cooder, among many others.
