NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 15, 2006) Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs proudly announced today that Canadian pianist and singer/songwriter
Chantal Kreviazuk has joined its piano artist roster. The classically trained musician from Winnipeg, Manitoba is currently playing a Yamaha
C7, a 7'6" Concert Collection Grand Piano.
"We are thrilled and honored that Chantal has chosen to play Yamaha pianos. We know we will have a long and successful partnership with this extremely talented and soulful musician," comments Chris Gero, corporate director of Yamaha Corporate Artist Affairs.
Kreviazuk's fourth album,
Ghost Stories, will be released on Aug. 29. It was written entirely by Kreviazuk and her husband, Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace, who also produced.
Under These Rocks and Stones, Kreviazuk's first album, introduced her to North America in 1996 with the strength of the single "God Made Me." Her second CD,
Colour and Moving Still, led her to two Juno Awards in 2000 for Best Adult/Pop Album and Best Female Artist. Kreviazuk's third album,
What If It All Means Something, featured the hit "In This Life."
Kreviazuk has also lent her talents to several notable TV and feature film soundtracks including a cover of John Denver's "Leaving on a Jet Plane" from
Armageddon, a rendition of Randy Newman's "Feels Like Home" for
Dawson's Creek, a cover of The Beatles' "In My Life" for the TV show
Providence, and two songs featured on
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants soundtrack.
Not only does Kreviazuk perform her own songs, but she also is a songwriter to some of the hottest pop artists recording today. She co-wrote several tracks on Avril Lavigne's
Under My Skin, and has also co-written "Walk Away" for Kelly Clarkson, "Rich Girl" for
Gwen Stefani, "Revolution" for The Veronicas, and "Hanging On" for new MTV reality star Cheyenne Kimball.
