HOLLYWOOD, CA (Dec. 6, 2005) — Yamaha artist and legendary Van Halen bassist
Michael Anthony has partnered with Hard Rock International to feature his Mad Anthony's Original Style and Extra Hot BBQ brand sauces on Hard Rock's famous menu and in its Rock Shops.
Hard Rock will also add the new dish "Mad Anthony's Grilled Skirt Steak" to its menus throughout the U.S. and select European cafes. The 11-ounce skirt steak is brushed with Mad Anthony's Original Style BBQ sauce, grilled and made-to-order, and served with a side of sweet potato French fries and fresh vegetables.
"Like music, cooking and more specifically, barbecuing, is one of my greatest passions and my sauce is a celebration of these simple pleasures in life," says Anthony. "I am thrilled to have my original BBQ sauces featured on Hard Rock's menu, as both embody the true meaning of rock 'n roll flavor."
Anthony is no stranger to creating quality products for the rocker lifestyle. He has his own Yamaha signature bass, the
BB3000MA, which has the same chili pepper graphics on the ebony fingerboard as appear on the BBQ sauce labels. To celebrate the launch of the sauces and new menu item at Hard Rock locations, Anthony will be appearing at several cafes throughout the U.S., where he will donate six
Yamaha basses to Hard Rock's world-famous memorabilia collection. At each appearance, he will also meet with fans and sign bottles of his signature BBQ sauces. A limited-edition "Mad Anthony" pin will also be available at the Rock Shops in these markets.
The guitar dedications and bottle signings will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. local time at the following Hard Rock Cafes:
