Super Bowl Scores Legendary Rocker and Hot Young Artist

NASHVILLE, TENN (Feb 2, 2005) – The entertainment for this year's biggest event in the NFL has officially been booked. Sir Paul McCartney (knighted in England for his musical and humanitarian achievements) has agreed to perform at the Ameriquest Mortgage Super Bowl XXXIX Halftime Show on Feb. 6, 2005, in Jacksonville, Florida. Also joining McCartney is fellow Yamaha artist, Alicia Keys, the reigning princess of R&B fresh from her multiple victories at the 2004 Billboard Music Awards.

Nearly forty years ago, McCartney, performed during a halftime show at the Gator Bowl as one of the Fab Four or "The Beatles." This is not McCartney's first Super Bowl appearance (he also performed during the Super Bowl pre-game show in 2002). However, McCartney is the 2005 featured performer for the biggest halftime party in the NFL.

"There's nothing bigger than being asked to perform at the Super Bowl," said McCartney. "We're looking forward to rocking the millions at home and in the stadium."

The theme for Super Bowl XXXIX is "Building Bridges." One of the bridges formed during the show will connect between the generations that separate the legendary McCartney and bright, new star, Alicia Keys.

While, both Keys and McCartney have little in common when it comes to musical genres and generation gaps, they do share a common love of music and professional equipment. Both stars prefer the sound quality of Yamaha instruments, especially the Yamaha C7 Concert Collection Grand Piano.

Historically the nation's anthems are performed during each Super Bowl by the best musical performers. Keys is scheduled to perform the anthem, "America the Beautiful" during Super Bowl XXXIX. Although Keys is barely in her twenties, she has already won multiple Billboard, Grammy, VMA, MTV, American Music, and World Music awards. She is internationally recognized as a chart-topping and record-breaking success and is a contemporary legend for the next generation of artists.

Keys and McCartney are both familiar with large audiences and live performances. This year's Super Bowl promises to be one of their biggest shows. The last Super Bowl had 144.4 million viewers in the U.S. The Super Bowl is annually the nation's highest-rated TV event. It is also the most-watched single-day sporting event and is broadcast in over 200 countries worldwide. Super Bowl XXXIX hopes to build bridges across the United States and the world through the love of sports and music.
