Nashville, Tenn. (Jan. 12, 2005) Tony Haselden is a man of many blended talents. He is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer and a member of the band, LeRoux. LeRoux, like Haselden's own career has an interesting definition. Le Roux is a Cajun French term for the thick and delicious gravy base that is used in the recipe for Louisiana's famous blend of several different ingredients or gumbo.
Haselden, whose instrument ranges from the Yamaha acoustic/electric Contemporary CPX series of guitars, began his career in his native state of Louisiana. He became a member of the Louisiana LeRoux band. Haselden enjoyed a lot of local success and also toured successfully in Africa with Louisiana LeRoux. After the band gained more success, they dropped the Louisiana moniker and changed the name to just LeRoux.
Since LeRoux first formed, Haselden and the band also began headlining for ZZ Top, Kansas, The Doobie Brothers, Bob Seger and Journey. Besides playing his Yamaha guitar and using the Yamaha Digital Musical Instrument products like the AW4416 Digital Audio Workstation for producing and songwriting, Haselden also wrote several of LeRoux's songs on albums like "Keep the Fire Burning," "Last Safe Place," and "So Fired Up."
Haselden also branched out from his LeRoux roots and wrote several extremely successful country hits including "You Know Me Better Than That," performed by George Strait, "That's Me," by Martina McBride, "In Other Words," by Toby Keith and "What Made You Say That," by Shania Twain. His songs have topped the country charts and he has even graced a "heavenly" soundtrack. He also wrote the only country single for the platinum-selling soundtrack for the television series, "Touched by an Angel."
When he is not producing or performing with his band, Haselden likes to practice and write new hit songs with his Yamaha guitar. He has also traveled with other Yamaha artists in the past to introduce the latest Yamaha audio and music products available to current and future professional songwriters, record producers and artists who are also looking to create their own songs and demos. Everyday, music and the technology that helps create everyone's favorite songs evolves. Haselden has always embraced the change and along with Yamaha has been successful at adding new ingredients to his own style of musical gumbo.
