BUENA PARK, CA (November 12, 2004) Yamaha products took center stage in the new Hilary Duff movie "Raise Your Voice". Yamaha Corporation of America accommodated New Line Cinema with several instruments for the film, centered at an L.A. performing arts academy. In many scenes, Duff can be seen singing in front of a Yamaha
CFIIIS and a
C7. The film, which also stars Rita Wilson, Rebecca De Mornay, Jason Ritter, John Corbett, David Keith and Oliver James, focuses on the significance of music education.
"With music education constantly in jeopardy in this country, it's important for kids to continually be inspired to create music," said Chris Gero, Corporate Director of Artist Affairs. "We were extremely happy to provide Yamaha products to a movie that hopefully will inspire millions of children to become performers themselves."
Several Yamaha products are featured in the film, including
drums,
horns,
stringed instruments,
keyboards and
pianos. Raise Your Voice was released in theatres on October 8, 2004. Prop master Maureen Farley conducted research with music schools and found Yamaha products to be the most widely used.
"We chose Yamaha products because of Yamaha's dedication to
music education," said Farley.
