Kevin Lepper is an educator and performer focusing on a total percussion approach.
He has taught at VanderCook College of Music as Director of Applied Studies and Professor of Percussion since 1997, as well as serving as a private lesson teacher and clinician for many high schools and junior high schools across the United States. He has been the recipient of The Roy Knapp Memorial Excellence in Teaching Award and the Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educators Award. Kevin worked with the national award winning Lake Park High School Marching Band for nineteen years and The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps for seven seasons.
His performance career has spanned from El Paso Symphony Orchestra to That Memorial Ragtime Marimba Band, The Chautauqua Ensemble (world music), The Nola Trio (ragtime), Cross Currents (Ecuador tour), commercials, casuals, The Midwest Clinic, and PASIC conventions.
Kevin has written works for many school ensembles, and has been published by Hal Leonard, FJH Music Company, CPP/Belwin Music, MSC, William Allen Music, and Arrangers Publishing Company. His works are now being distributed by Northeastern Music Publications. Through his company Advantage Network, which specializes in marching band goods, he has written a series of educationally based high school and junior high school percussion ensemble arrangements as well as three Boomwhacker collections.
