Jon Weber is Instructor of Percussion at the Michigan State University College of Music, where he teaches applied percussion lessons, percussion ensemble, salsa band and the award-winning Michigan State Drumline. Under the direction of Dr. Weber, the MSU Drumline has performed across the United States at football games, clinics, exhibitions, Bands of America Grand National Championships and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC). The MSU Percussion Ensemble, with Dr. Weber as co-director, was selected in the call for tapes to perform at the 2013 PASIC.
Dr. Weber has performed and presented clinics throughout the United States, and in the summer of 2012 served as a clinician for bands and orchestras as well as performed a recital in Colombia. He has served as a clinician at the Percussive Arts Society International Competition multiple times, and is a member of the PAS Marching Percussion Committee.
Dr. Weber was a snare drummer in the 1992 Santa Clara Vanguard. He was composer / artistic director of the Detroit Pistons Drumline from 2006-2010. He has arranged the front ensemble music for NorthCoast Academy from 2013 to the present. Dr. Weber has arranged / composed over 200 pieces for the MSU Spartan Marching Band Drumline, the Detroit Pistons Drumline and WGI drumlines. Dr. Weber's arrangements have been performed by university and NBA drumlines across the United States.
