Joey Finger started playing drums when he was 12 years old when his big brother bought an old mismatched drum set for $50 and said "Don't touch 'em". Since then he's been playing drums and involved in music in almost every capacity.
He studied music theory in high school and college. He started playing nightclubs and concerts when he was 15 and worked in Minneapolis with countless different bands and artists both live and in the studio, eventually having the privilege of recording for, among others, Prince, with producer Ricky Peterson.
He worked in Minneapolis for many years until moving to Los Angeles in October of '96, where he was contacted by artists like Boz Scaggs and country superstar Bryan White for touring and session work. He began touring with Bryan and LeAnn Rimes in December of '97. He has performed on drums and percussion on Bryan's last two LPs.
Joey plays Yamaha drums and electronics.
