Growing up in his grandfather’s church, Jamison’s passion for music was discovered. At the age of fourteen, this love began to reach far beyond the four walls of the church. The captivating feeling he brings to music is a result of his upbringing. This gift has afforded him the opportunity to work with world class musicians including Billy Childs, Wycliffe Gordon, Ellis Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, Marcus Roberts, Henry Butler, Wes Anderson and Irvin Mayfield to name a few.
After being selected for the Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Residency Program at the Kennedy Center in 2009, Jamison was asked to join GRAMMY winning songwriter and vocalist Carmen Lundy’s band. Through Lundy he has toured the world and played some of the nation’s most historic venues. Jamison also can be heard on tour with Jon Batiste & Stay Human as well as Cecile Mclorin Salvant.
