Italian clarinetist Ivan Petruzziello currently serves as Assistant Principal Clarinetist/E-flat Clarinetist of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and Principal Clarinetist of the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra. Previously, Petruzziello served as Principal Clarinetist of the Cali Philharmonic Orchestra and played Second Clarinet in the Valle Symphony Orchestra in Colombia.
As a guest clarinetist, Petruzziello has performed with orchestras around the world, including the Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia, Latina Philharmonia, International Chamber Ensemble, National Cuban Philharmonic, Matanzas Symphony of Cuba, Bogotá Philharmonic and the Orquesta Clásica of Colombia. In North America, he has performed with the Irving, Plano, Las Colinas, San Angelo, San Antonio and Victoria Symphony Orchestras. Festival appearances include those with the Tiroler Festspiele in Austria; Holguin Symphony Orchestra of Cuba; Sabaudia Music Festival, Concerti al Chiostro and Euromediterraneo Festivals in Italy; Ojca in Panama and Cliburn at the Modern, Corpus Christi Chamber Music Society, Spectrum Chamber Music Series and Lux Musicae in the United States.
Petruzziello has made solo appearances with the Metropolitan Winds, Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra and Flower Mound Symphony Orchestra in the United States; the Valle, Caldas and EAFIT Symphony Orchestras in Colombia; and the Holguin Symphony Orchestra, Matanzas Symphony Orchestra and the National Philharmonic of Cuba. In Italy, he has performed as soloist with the Latina Philharmonia.
Petruzziello has served on faculty in several institutions in Colombia such as the Central, Valle and EAFIT Universities, as well as the Antonio María Valencia Conservatory. He has held masterclasses in Colombia, Cuba, Italy, Panama, Perú and the United States.
Petruzziello earned a BM in clarinet performance under the tutelage of Francesco Belli at the Ottorino Respighi Conservatory of Latina (Italy), a MM in Chamber Music from the Licino Refuse Conservatory of Frosinone (Italy) and an Artist Diploma Certificate from Texas Christian University. He resides in Fort Worth with his wife, cellist Laura Ospina, and their children Tomas and Olivia.
