Hollie Lifshey has held the position of Second Trumpet with the Atlanta Opera Orchestra since 2011 and was previously Principal Trumpet with the Savannah Philharmonic, South Carolina Philharmonic and Macon Symphony. She maintains an active broad-spectrum performance career, frequently performing with the Atlanta Symphony, Atlanta Ballet Orchestra and Chattanooga Symphony in addition to giving solo and recital performances.
Lifshey's international reputation includes recitals and masterclasses at universities, conferences and festivals throughout the United States and Europe. She performed on the New Works Recital at the 2017 International Trumpet Guild Conference, and she has premiered new works at the Trumpet Festival of the Southeast and the Georgia Music Teachers Association Conference.
Additionally, Lifshey has performed with Sarah McLachlan, Kristin Chenoweth and Jennifer Holliday as well as with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Portugal and at the InterHarmony Music Festival in Acqui Terme, Italy.
A passionate advocate for cutting edge performance practice research, Lifshey was invited to present on this topic at the 2017 International Women's Brass Conference. She enjoys giving masterclasses and clinics with a strong focus on performance and visualization techniques.
Her primary teachers include Larry Black, Marie Speziale, Alan Siebert and Brad Ulrich. She earned a MM in Trumpet Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Professional affiliations include the American Federation of Musicians, International Trumpet Guild and the International Women's Brass Conference.
