Henry Williford is Principal Flute of Houston Grand Opera and has been a core member of the orchestra since 2018. Based in Houston, TX, he has performed across North America, Europe, and Asia. He is a graduate of the Shepherd School of Music, Rice University, where he studied with Leone Buyse. During this time, he performed with the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, Colorado. He went on to study two years with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. In Chicago he began six years of study with Mathieu Dufour, a mentorship that continued in Berlin. He also studied closely with Jennifer Gunn, Robert Langevin, Jean Ferrandis, Sydney Carlson, and Zart Dombourian-Eby.
