For more than 25 years Eric Siereveld has built a reputation as a multifaceted performer, composer, and educator. Dr. Eric Siereveld currently serves as the Assistant Professor of Trumpet and Jazz & Commercial Music at the University of Louisiana Monroe where he holds the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Endowed Professorship in Music. In Louisiana, he performs with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra, the Monroe Symphony Orchestra, the LA Legacy Big Band, and LA Jazz. As a performer, Eric is eclectic and collaborative with a strong commitment to chamber music, small group jazz, and new music. He is a member of the Black Bayou Brass Trio, the Lagniappe Brass, the Altus Trumpet Ensemble, leads his own small group jazz projects the Organic Quintet and ReMastered, and is a featured performer for the New Music on the Bayou new music festival each year.
Eric is a veteran of the NYC music scene and was a member of the Bronx Opera and Orchestra, performed on and off Broadway, toured with several Broadway productions, freelanced across the tri-state, and was an Instructor of Trumpet at the United Nations International School. His debut album featuring the Organic Quintet is titled Walk the Walk (2018) and is available through Shifting Paradigm Records. His 2022 recording, Vignettes: Music for Trumpet and Brass is available through Albany Records. Eric also performed on and served as the Personnel Manager and Project Coordinator for Douglas Hedwig's album Vibrant Colors – Brass Music of Douglas Hedwig (2022) available through MSR Classics.
Eric received his BME from Morehead State University, his MM in Jazz Studies from Indiana University, and his DMA form the University of Wisconsin. His teachers include Greg Wing, Joey Tartell, William Adam, and John Aley.
