Saxophonist Dana Booher is a highly acclaimed soloist, chamber musician, clinician and pedagogue who has performed across Asia, Europe and the United States.
Booher is in high demand as an orchestral performer, regularly appearing with ensembles including the National Symphony Orchestra, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Washington National Opera, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and others under conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Gianandrea Noseda, Marin Alsop, Andrew Litton and Philippe Auguin. He has been a member of the United States Navy Band since 2011, an ensemble with which he has been featured as concerto soloist dozens of times across 18 states. He also runs the Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium, the largest annual saxophone conference in the world which attracts thousands of musicians every year.
He has won top prizes at numerous competitions across the United States, including the Carmel Music Society Competition of which he is the only saxophonist to hold the distinction of winning the competition's Grand Prize in its 93-year history. Booher also holds the baritone saxophone chair of the Zzyzx Quartet, an ensemble which has been active for over a decade releasing two full-length albums and performing across the world.
