Dr. Christopher Davis is Associate Professor of Percussion at North Greenville University, where he teaches applied percussion and directs the NGU Percussion Ensemble and NGU Marching Crusaders Drumline. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Percussion Performance from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Arts in Percussion Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from Capital University. He has studied with Eric Paton, Jim Ed Cobbs, Robert Breithaupt, Gary Olmstead, Michael Kingan, Scott Herring and Guinean master drummer Bolokada Conde.
Christopher is Principal Percussionist with the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra and performs with numerous other regional orchestras. He has had the honor of performing at conferences for the Ohio Music Education Association, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association and the Percussive Arts Society. He has led clinics at the South Carolina Music Educators Association Conference, the South Carolina Day of Percussion and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. Christopher also presents performances, clinics and master classes on a regular basis in the Southeastern United States and teaches lessons to all ages.
Christopher is President of the South Carolina Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society. He is a Yamaha Performing Artist; a member of the Black Swamp Percussion Educator Network; and an endorser for Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets, Remo drumheads and Sabian cymbals. Christopher and his wife Jennifer reside in Greer, SC with their four children.
