Caleb Rothe is the Percussion Education Coordinator for WGI Sport of the Arts. He has previously served as a program director, arranger, and instructor for Ayala HS (1997-2009), Pulse Percussion (2004-2007), and Rancho Cucamonga HS (2000-2004). He also served as a front ensemble arranger and instructor for Upland HS (2004-2006), Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps (2010), and Impulse Drum and Bugle Corps (2004-2006). He has been a percussion educator in Southern California since 1997, and has worked with more than 20 different high schools, independent percussion ensembles, and drum and bugle corps. He is an internationally sought-after adjudicator and clinician, and has written for numerous groups across the United States and Japan.
Caleb has served as an adjudicator at events across the United States, Europe, and Asia. His judging experience includes work with WGI Sport of the Arts, Drum Corps International, the Malaysia World Band Competition, and a number of local and regional marching arts organizations and events.
Caleb served as principle percussionist of the Cal Poly Pomona University Wind Ensemble from 1998 to 2003, and has also performed with the Irvine Valley College Wind Symphony. In addition to his concert performances, Caleb has been active as a studio musician and has performed on several CDs and film soundtracks.
He was a founding member of and serves as President of the Southern California Percussion Alliance. Caleb has previously served as the Vice President of Percussion for the Winter Guard International Board of Directors, and has previously been a member of the WGI Percussion Advisory Board and Percussion Steering Committee.
Caleb has lead ensembles to a number of local, regional, national, and international titles with a variety of organizations including WGI Sport of the Arts, Drum Corps International, and Bands of America. All told, his students have been named finalists at events more than 100 times, won more than 40 medals, and been named International Champions six times.
Caleb received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in the spring of 2003 and his teaching credential from the University of Redlands in the winter of 2007. He currently teaches algebra and percussion at Cope Middle School in Redlands, California.
Caleb lives with his wife Kelly and sons Cameron and Carter in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
