Sergio Bellotti moved from the south of Italy to the USA in 1995. Very active in the music scene of Boston first and worldwide clinician/performer now, Sergio has recorded and/or shared the stage with Mike Stern, Wayne Krantz, Tom Scott, Bob James, Robben Ford, Nathan East and Dan Siegel among others. He currently plays with his electric jazz ensemble Spajazzy (two Cds feat.Mike Stern on guitar) and co-leads a Duo with Percussion Virtuoso and Remo Signature Artist Alessandra Belloni.
Sergio performs weekly with WeJazzUp! as well as with many others local musicians and visiting artists.
Sergio is the founder of the successful "Do You Speak Drumming? " program with allows him to travel to Italy up to 4 times a year for clinics/masterclasses and concerts and gives an opportunity to international students to experience a full immersion one on one lessons/ life in the music scene of Boston filled with jam sessions, clinics and much more.
Sergio has been teaching part time as a regular visiting artist at the GM drum school in Torino and the Conservatorio Della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano Swiss.
Sergio works as an assistant professor at Berklee College of Music since 2002, writes for DrumClub magazine in Italy, and, as a worldwide clinician, has performed at the Montreal Drum Fest '03 (available on DVD), Cape Breton International Drum Fest 2004, 2005 and 2006, Berklee World Percussion Festival from 2005 to present, and at PASIC '05 and '09 in the USA and PASIC '06,07 and 2010 and 2011 in Italy as well as KOSA 2010 and 2011 in Vt and was the MC at the Joe Morello Tribute Concert in Italy in May of 2011.
Sergio plays Yamaha Drums, Remo Drum Heads, Vic Firth Sticks, Zildjian Cymbals and has a signature model of practice Aluminum Sticks made by Vibe.
