Anthony Robinson is Adjunct Professor of Percussion at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX. In addition to his duties at the university, he previously served as Director of Bands for the Marshall Independent School District during the last five years of his 30-year tenure and Percussion Specialist/Junior High Band Director for the first 25 years.
An active professional, Robinson has served as percussionist with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra for more than 40 seasons and has shared the concert stage with artists such as Rich Little, Mary Wilson, Roberta Flack, Marvin Hamlisch, Shari Lewis, The Temptations, The Modern Jazz Quartet, Dudley Moore, Ray Charles, Smokey Robinson, Chet Atkins, Ray Price, Kathy Mattea, Itzhak Perlman and János Starker, among others.
Robinson serves as a percussion consultant/clinician for many junior high and high schools in the East Texas area and percussion organizer/clinician for the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Bands and Orchestras.
Robinson received his Bachelor of Music Education from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, his master's degree in secondary education from East Texas State University and began doctoral work through Walden University before cancelling studies due to Military Activation for both the Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom Wars.
Robinson's percussion instructors include the late Dr. John Raush, the late Eddy Kozak, Dr. Don Keipp and the late Milt Jackson.
