Ann Marie Yasinitsky, Professor of Flute and Coordinator of Woodwinds at Washington State University, maintains a thriving studio of flute majors, teaches classes in music history and theory and performs with the Solstice Wind Quintet in residence at WSU. She is a recipient of numerous awards and grants including a "Special Commendation" award in the Vienna Modern Masters International Recording Competition for Performers and a Solo Recitalist Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. She can be heard on recordings released by The Musical Heritage Society, Vienna Modern Masters, Soul Note, Revelation Records and has released the solo CD Intuition on the YAZZ Recordings label. Yasinitsky is Principal Flutist with the Washington-Idaho Symphony and has also performed with the Spokane Symphony, Boise Philharmonic, Gunther Schuller's New England Ragtime Ensemble and several California orchestras including the San Jose Symphony, the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, the San Francisco Midsummer Mozart Orchestra and the Oakland Opera Orchestra. Yasinitsky is a Yamaha Performing Artist.
