Dr. Amy McGlothlin is a saxophonist, bagpiper, conductor and educator who has performed throughout the United States and Europe. She performs solo and chamber music with a variety of groups. Dr. McGlothlin is a Yamaha Performing Artist and Rovner Products Ambassador.
A versatile musician, Dr. McGlothlin performs with a diverse group of artists including Pharos Quartet and Triage. She is an avid participant in the marching arts and has served on the staff of the University of Florida Gator Marching Band as well as the Dracut High School Marching Band and was the visual designer for the Andover High School Marching Band. She has led ensembles on tours in the United States, Scotland and Ireland and was the organizer and founder of the Salem State University Saxophone and Woodwind Day clinics for secondary school students.
As a conductor, Dr. McGlothlin leads the concert and jazz ensembles at Fitchburg State University where she is the Director of Bands. She has been a guest conductor of the North Andover High School Wind Ensemble and Concert Band in MA, the NH Middle Level Honors Saxophone Ensemble, the Stone Bridge High School Wind Ensemble in VA and the Quabbin Valley Music Educators Honors Band.
Dr. McGlothlin is an Assistant Professor at Fitchburg State University and is the musical director of Clan MacPherson Pipes and Drums of Lawrence, MA. An active educator, she gives masterclasses to chamber groups, soloists and ensembles throughout the United States.
