EG
Envelope Generator — Responsible for the change in a parameter over time. This change can be influenced further by the velocity of a note. Typical Envelope Generators are the Amplitude Envelope Generator (AEG), Filter Envelope Generator (FEG), and Pitch Envelope Generator (PEG). The AEG is responsible for changes in loudness over time. The Filter EG is responsible for changes in timbre or tone color over time and adds harmonic movement to sounds. The PEG is responsible for changes in pitch over time. EGs allow for precise control over Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release portions of the envelope. The TIME can be set between segments and the LEVEL can be controlled at each point. On many of the envelope generators there are additional parameters for Initial Levels and Release Levels.
