Alternative Internal Resonance (A.I.R.) is a Yamaha exclusive construction technique. Offering the unique combination of an ultra lightweight wood core sandwiched between a hardwood top and a hardwood back, this combination allows the woods in the RBX4 A2 to vibrate freely and create a resonance and sustain that is much greater than the average guitar. The outstanding resonance is enhanced by special sound tubes, which connect the hardwoods with the softwood core across the instrument.

Wes Borland was intensely involved in every aspect of the design process of his dream signature model from conception to completion. This new model boasts a distinctive design incorporating Yamaha’s unique Takumi-Kezuri construction in which the back, sides, and center block are all carved from one block of wood (alder, in this case). This series is a replacement for the popular CB-800B series. Available in three sizes 40", 32"and 36" x 22", each bass drum comes equipped with Remo Nuskyn Heads. Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, will debut its YBL-830 Xeno Bass Trombone and YBL-822G Xeno Bass Trombone at Winter NAMM 2007. The horns, designed with the assistance of key orchestral players and soloists throughout the world, are the newest addition to the world-class line of Xeno brass instruments.

Ideal for professional and semi-professional jazz and classical bass trombonists, the YBL-830 replaces the YBL-613H. Several improvements have been made, including redesigned slide crook material and slide braces that enable increased flexibility and quicker response.
